SPROUT - Growing Green Entrepreneurs

The need for green and sustainable innovation is more clear than ever. It’s not just a trend or a “good thing to do”, and businesses are becoming more conscious in embracing green practices to become ready for a sustainable and efficient future.

Are you a team of passionate green entrepreneurs? Do you want to develop your idea and prototype further? Or maybe you’re not sure if you are “green” yet, but interested in growing your idea into a green business?

The Sprout program, in partnership with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) Lebanon, is looking for young teams, of 2 or more, to undergo a green entrepreneurship program and participate in a series of training sessions and study tours to learn from successfully-established green Lebanese entrepreneurs.

Whether you are into recycling, up-cycling, waste management, sustainable agriculture, construction material, alternative energy solutions… you name it. Whatever your idea or sector is and wherever you are in your early idea stage, join Sprout program now!

*There is no seed funding offered in SPROUT. However, around three teams will receive in-kind grants from INJAZ Lebanon, ranging between $500 and $1,000, to help them work towards their prototype in case needed. This will be decided during the program and selection will be made according to needs.

WHO, WHAT & WHEN

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Teams of 2 members or more.
  • All participants must be aged between 18 and 28.
  • Early stage business - Have already started working on your idea and developed a prototype.
  • Should have a business idea related to green entrepreneurship or presenting a sustainability innovation component.
  • Want to learn what gaps in your solution you need to address in order to grow your idea into a green business.
  • Willing to commit to the program’s timeline and attend the 50 hours of training sessions, events, and activities whether online or in-person.

COMMITMENT

By participating in the program, your team will need to commit to 50 hours including:

  • 7 online training sessions.
  • 3 in-person study tours or ‘Green Visits’.
  • 1 online course on INJAZ Campus.
  • One-on-one online coaching sessions.
  • 1 in-person rehearsal and pitching masterclass.
  • 1 in-person Green Demo Day event.

TIMELINE

  • Deadline for applications: August 19, 2024.
  • Screening & Acceptance: August 19 to August 26, 2024.
  • On-boarding & start of training: September 2, 2024.
  • Online training sessions and in-person study tours: September 2 to October 2, 2024.
  • One-on-one coaching sessions and pitching masterclass: October and November 2024.
  • Green Demo Day: December 2, 2024.

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) is the German Foundation for Liberal Politics. FNF promotes liberal values; above all freedom of the individual in their pursuit of happiness.
